Will the real National Pickleball League please stand up?

An organization that promotes and supports the sport of pickleball is suing another group over the right to call itself the National Pickleball League.

In a lawsuit filed in Oklahoma City federal court, New York-based USA-NPL LLC claims that a Florida company calling itself the National Pickleball League is "confusingly similar" to its existing NPL and National Pickleball League trademarks.

USA-NPL says it used the name long before the defendants filed their own trademarks in 2022. That alleged infringement could cause confusion among fans, players and sponsors of the nation's fastest-growing sport, its lawsuit claims.
