Gujarat Cabinet gets younger as average age comes down; Rivaba Jadeja is youngest minister October 17, 2025

Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s newly formed cabinet is noticeably younger than the previous one, reflecting a strategic shift towards empowering the state’s next generation of leadership. The average age of ministers in the new cabinet has dropped by 5 years, from 60 years in the previous cabinet to 55 this term.

Among the new ministers, Rivaba Jadeja is the youngest at 35, while Kanubhai Desai, who has retained his cabinet rank in the reshuffled cabinet, holds the distinction of being the eldest at 74.

The cabinet features a notable youth presence, with Rivaba Jadeja, Kaushik Vekaria, Pravin Mali, and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi all being 40 or younger.
