CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The 11th annual Tucker Hipps Memorial Golf Tournament will tee off at 10 a.m. Friday at Paris Mountain Country Club in Greenville.
The tournament honors 19-year-old Tucker Hipps, who died after falling from a bridge during a pledge run with his fraternity in September 2014. The Clemson student’s death shocked the Upstate.
The fraternity was suspended for hazing, but no one has ever been charged in Hipps’ death. While Tucker’s parents continue to fight for answers, they’re also making sure his memory stays alive.
His parents say the event allows them to give back to the community Tucker loved so much.
“I think Tucker would be proud to know that his name carries on with good that we’re doing in the community and not just how he died,” mother Cindy Hipps sai
