A portion of the Lloyd Expressway will be closed down for overnight work.

The nearly 70-year-old pedestrian overpass west of St. Joe Avenue is coming down.

Work is expected to start around 11:00 Monday night and finish by 5:00 Tuesday morning.

All lanes of the Lloyd will be closed at the intersection to allow cranes to come in and lift the overpass to a nearby vacant parking lot.

Traffic will be rerouted at St. Joe and Barker Avenue.

The old bridge will be replaced with a wider version.
