Several mayors and law enforcement leaders plan to gather in Oakland Friday to work on ways to reduce gun violence.

Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee is slated to host the regional conference to not only discuss but to try to come up with strategies to reduce the gun violence problem on Bay Area streets.

The conference, called Collaboration for a Safer Bay Area, will include mayors from Antioch, Berkeley, Richmond and Vallejo, along with law enforcement and public health professionals.
