TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Thousands of “No Kings Day” protests are planned across the nation this weekend to denounce recent policies enacted by President Donald Trump’s administration, according to organizers.
The “No Kings” theme was created by the 50501 Movement , a national movement against what they call the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration. The name 50501 stands for 50 states, 50 protests, one movement.
Over 2,000 No Kings demonstrations are scheduled across all 50 states on Saturday, Oct. 18, including some in the Big Bend and South Georgia.
Protests will take place in Tallahassee, Live Oak, Sopchoppy and Valdosta, per the website.
The most recent No Kings protest happened six months ago and drew crowds to the steps of the Old Capitol in Tallahassee.
