The Centre on Friday ordered an investigation by retired Supreme Court judge B S Chauhan into the violence in Leh that led to four deaths during protests demanding statehood for Ladakh. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued a statement that the probe will look into the circumstances behind the serious law and order situation that led to police action and the deaths.
“In order to ensure an impartial inquiry, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, today [Friday, October 17], notified a judicial inquiry to be conducted by Hon’ble Dr Justice B S Chauhan, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, into the circumstances leading to the serious law and order situation, the police action and the resultant unfortunate death of the four individuals,”
