FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — Florence Middle School announced that students will be released early after a vehicle hit the school building on Friday.

Florence Middle School officials said that the car accident took place on Hermitage Drive on the north end of the school.

According to the school, a vehicle involved hit the side of the building. No students or staff members were involved or injured. Florence City Schools told News 19 that two vehicles were involved in the crash.

School officials are asking to the public to avoid the area of Hermitage Drive and Kendrick Street while crews work to clear the scene.

Florence Middle School students will be dismissed at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
