HOUSTON, Mo. (KY3) - The Texas County Library System has been thinking about replacing the 75-year-old Houston library for years. After securing nearly $3 million in funding through grants, donations, and some state funds, construction started 18 months ago.

The new library, now complete, sits on top of the Houston storm shelter, allowing them to double the space of the old building and have room for adding new programs to encourage literacy.
