I never ranked the original Bose QuietComfort Ultras quite as close to the front of the pack as my peers. They were great over-ear headphones , but I always took issue with the way the active noise-cancelling made me feel. My ears would always feel like they're about to pop, a bit like going on an airplane or up on an elevator too fast without stopping. On a bad day, I'd start to feel nauseous. It wasn't an issue unique to Bose headphones , but it was one that created a gap between my preferences and general consensus .
Earlier this year, Bose released an update to their flagship noise-cancelling headphones with the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Gen 2 and in the past few weeks, I've been able to try them out. I'm happy to report the second generation of QC Ultra headphones
