The bombshell story of the college football season thus far dropped last weekend, with the Penn State Nittany Lions officially firing head coach James Franklin after a 3-3 start to the year, which featured three-straight losses in the Big Ten Conference.
In the days since, we've heard from the athletic director and the players, and just about everyone in the sports media world has had an opportunity to say their piece on the matter, whether or not they agree with the move. Now, it's Franklin's time to talk.
And we're going to hear him on the biggest stage you can ask for in college football.
It was announced this week that Franklin will be speaking publicly for the first time since his firing on Saturday morning. He will join the crew at ESPN's College GameDay in Athens, Georgia, for the matchup between the No. 4 Ole Miss Rebels and No. 9 Bulldogs.
Franklin has not been shy about speaking his mind in the media before, so this should be a must-see television experience for all who are interested in the storyline. After going 104-45 during his 12 years with the Nittany Lions and helping to establish them as one of the top teams in the Big Ten year-in and year-out, for Franklin to be fired after a tough three-game stretch is understandably frustrating.
Will he take the gloves off and reveal his real feelings on the matter, or will he be cordial about the whole situation?
We will find out on Saturday morning, and I think I speak for many when I say that I can't wait to find out.
