Giuseppe Politi, the homegrown bench boss who made League1 Ontario soccer history this year by leading the Sudbury Cyclones to an unprecedented second straight promotion, was recognized this week as Coach of the Year for the Championship men’s division.
Politi had been nominated for the award alongside Donovan Taffe of Unionville-Milliken and Ramin Mohammadi of Whitby.
League1 named all of its award-winners and all-stars for the 2025 season this week. Politi followed Connor Vande Weghe in claiming a major award for the Cyclones, the latter having been named as Goalkeeper of the Year and a finalist for Most Valuable Player.
Vande Weghe also received a first-team all-star nod, while Sudbury striker Jaiden Santo was named to the second team.
