In the last 24 hours, three pedestrians have been killed in what Calgary police are calling "entirely preventable" collisions.
A woman in her eighties was killed after a car hit her in the southwest community of Woodlands Thursday night, police said.
The collision happened at 8:30 p.m., when the woman was crossing Woodpark Boulevard S.W., at the intersection of 117th Avenue S.W.
The driver, a 20-year-old man, is not believed to have been impaired, but police said they are investigating speed as a factor.
