DOVER – Bayhealth is embarking on its next wave, a major expansion project that will reshape its two main hospital campuses.

The move will add new inpatient capacity, modernized facilities and long-term infrastructure designed to meet the needs of Delaware’s rapidly growing population into the next century through the organization’s Kent and Sussex campuses in Dover and Milford respectively.

The first phase of the project focuses on the Dover location which will see a $250 million investment and the addition of 225,000 square feet of new space. Plans include building six additional floors atop the existing four-story pavilion, transforming it into a 10-story patient tower and the tallest structure in the city.
