MONTEREY, Calif. — A California aquarium brought back a vintage sea otter tee Thursday and raised more than $2.1 million after "Swifties" hunted down the design.

The fundraiser and re-print of a decades-old Monterey Bay Aquarium T-shirt design comes after pop star Taylor Swift wore it in the movie release "Official Release Party of a Showgirl." It was also featured on an Instagram account highlighting parts of Swift's wardrobe.

The design is from the 90s, but the aquarium brought it back after seeing Swift's impact and the mass interest.

"We saw a wave of $13 donations to support our sea otter program and other ocean conservation work," the aquarium wrote in a statement .
