OpenAI has banned the creation of “disrespectful” deepfakes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. after several racist videos were created and circulated on the internet.
The announcement was made in a statement shared on X by OpenAI on Thursday, Oct. 16. It comes after users utilized Sora, an artificial intelligence model offered by the company, to create “disrespectful depictions of Dr. King’s image.”
OpenAI said it has worked with the Estate of Martin Luther King, Jr.
