President Donald Trump made a bizarre claim Friday, saying "Now I have the best polling numbers I've ever had" — as polls actually show otherwise.

Trump made the statement on his Truth Social platform just hours after a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House.

Although Trump has seen some polling improvement following the Gaza ceasefire negotiations, he's still low on approval ratings in the United States, The Associated Press reports Friday.

About 4 in 10 American adults approve of the way Trump is handling his job as president overall, which remains unchanged since September, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Trump is navigating uncertainty among Americans as the government shutdown hits its third week and economic woes continue.
