KENT COUNTY, Mich. — A Kent County courtroom turned into a celebration of love and new beginnings Friday morning.
An 11-year-old girl who is hard of hearing was officially adopted by her forever family while surrounded by her entire middle-school class.
“We're gathered here in court to celebrate this, the confirmation of a new family through adoption. Today is about love, commitment and beginning and it's a privilege for this court to be a part of it,” said Judge Matthew DeLange.
Daisy called the session to order herself, with a smile, gavel and a room full of support.
Her classmates from Northview’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program filled the courtroom to celebrate the family that’s loved her all along.
