DENVER (KDVR) — A civil jury awarded $19.75 million Friday to six people injured in 2022 when a Denver police officer fired shots into a crowd in the city's LoDo area.
In the early morning hours of July 17, 2022, Denver police officers responded to a report of a fight near the intersection of 20th Street and Larimer Street. Three officers responded and shot suspect Jordan Waddy after he pulled a gun.
The six plaintiffs filed suit against now-former officer Brandon Ramos. In a statement Friday, lawyers for the bystanders said the "six innocent bystanders suffered life-changing injuries," and "The significant award recognizes the suffering that these six victims endured at the hands of an officer who vowed to serve and protect but instead fired at will into a crowd." • HALO video from th
