Authorities in New York have released the cause and manner of death of a fitness instructor who was found dead with cuts to his legs and face inside his apartment in August.

Jacob Zieben-Hood, 34, was found in the bathroom of his apartment by his husband Donald Zieben-Hood in Manhattan on Aug. 1 with multiple stab wounds to his legs , the NYPD previously told PEOPLE.
