LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan Avenue is officially back open after a $14.1 million reconstruction project that stretched from Pennsylvania Avenue to Howard Street.

The two-year project included full roadway rebuilding, new sidewalks, updated traffic signals, and upgrades to water and sewer mains. The road was also narrowed from five lanes to four, adding a center turn lane and dedicated bike lanes to improve safety and accessibility.

Lansing Mayor Andy Schor said the improvements will help bring people — and business — back to the corridor.
