FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Police are working to prepare for the second "No Kings" protest in Fayetteville.
No Kings is a U.S. grassroots movement opposing what it views as authoritarian actions by former President Trump, according to the group’s website. Organizers with the protest say the demonstrations once again will take place nationwide, including a stop in Fayetteville.
The Fayetteville Police Department says it was previously notified that the event would be taking place and began planning weeks ago.
"We're expecting a number of protest participants to show up and take part in a protest event there at that location," Sergeant Stephen Mauk with the Fayetteville Police Department said. "We do have a safety plan designed and developed to help facilitate a nice, safe event."
