A Simsbury man has been arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from an underage girl, police said.

The Cromwell Police Department received a complaint Friday that a man was allegedly soliciting sex from a 15-year-old girl. According to police, the girl was actually an adult woman posing at a juvenile on the social media app Whisper.

Cromwell Police Department’s Patrol and Detective Divisions set up surveillance at a Super 8 hotel at 1 Industrial Park Road and observed the suspect, 63-year-old Christopher Root, walk into the hotel where he was placed under arrest, police said.
