SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (KOLO) - For the second time in two days, a Silver Stage student has been taken into custody for threatening to bring a firearm to school, according to a Friday, Oct. 17, Lyon County Sheriff’s Office news release.

This time the incident happened at Silver Stage High School.

At 12:30 p.m., the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to a threat made by a student to bring a firearm to school to use against fellow students, the release said.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer immediately initiated an investigation.

As a result of the investigation, the 18-year-old student was arrested and booked into the Lyon County Jail.

At this time, there is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or the community, the release said.
