MOUNT OLIVE – Mount Olive hit .234 from the net and logged nine blocks to defeat the UNC Pembroke volleyball team 3-2 (22-25, 25-14, 23-25, 25-23, 15-12) on Friday evening inside Kornegay Arena.

The setback for the Braves (9-9, 6-4 CC) marked the second consecutive loss and fall to 6-12 all-time when playing in Mount Olive. The Trojans (9-12, 7-6 CC) have now won their last two contests and improve to 4-3 when playing at home this season.

Mount Olive took an early 2-0 lead in the first set with kills from Rachel Clark and Olivia Melvin. UNC Pembroke’s Savannah Whaley responded with a pair of kills, contributing to a tied score at 7-7.
