As the days get shorter and the weather colder, the summer holidays are long behind us, and the next half term is rapidly approaching. Between October 25 and November 2, Derbyshire's pupils will be on half term holidays, and parents will be wondering how to keep them busy.

We have put together a list of the best half term activities to enjoy with the whole family.

Halloween week at Thornbridge Estate

The Peak District's Thornbridge Estate is offering a line-up of spooky activities during the half term week, with most of them being included in the standard garden entry tickets.

Activities are set to include a house of witchcraft, face painting, a Halloween trail, and a pumpkin patch. Workshops with ghostly guides, which will need to be separately booked, are also held on select dates.
