The Windsor Spitfires are the first OHL team to reach 10 wins.
It took the Spitfires just 12 games to hit the mark, but the club needed extra time to get there after rallying from an early two-goal deficit to score a 3-2 road win over the Sarnia Sting on Friday to improve to 10-1-1-0 on the season.
“Not the easy way,” Spitfires’ head coach Greg Walter said. “We beat them 8-1 (in Sarnia’s home opener on Sept. 19) and knew they would be ready for us.”
The Spitfires have now gone to overtime four times this season and have taken seven of a possible eight points in those games by winning two-of-three in overtime and scoring another win in a shootout.
Let’s put it in perspective
This was an uphill battle for most of the night for the Spitfires, who trailed 2-0 before the eight-minute mark
