ST. PAULS — The St. Pauls football team took a two-score lead early, fell behind by two scores and then used a late touchdown to earn a 31-27 win over Westover in an Eastern Sandhills Conference thriller Friday at G.S. Kinlaw Stadium.

Malikah Locklear scored the game-winning touchdown for St. Pauls (7-1, 2-1 ESC) on a pass from Antonio Arnold inside the final minute.

“I’m super proud that our kids were able to hunker down, redirect it and get the win,” St. Pauls coach Mike Setzer said.

The Bulldogs led Westover (2-6, 1-2 ESC) 15-0 early in the game, but Westover scored 27 points in quick succession to take a 27-18 lead by halftime. That remained the score after three quarters.
