JEWETT, Texas (KBTX) - It was a close game throughout, but the Cougars were able to stay one step ahead to secure the victory.

Why did Leon win? Leon’s offense remained a constant threat throughout the game.

Standout Performance? A fumble recovery by Centerville’s Jarrell Wright led to a rushing tochdown later in that drive from Jake Gray. Leon responds with a long touchdown pass from Landon Thomas to Cooper Stevens. The Cougar’s defense also made a big impact with a fumble recovery by Parker Thomas that lead to a rushing touchdown from Cotton Brigner later in that drive.

What’s next? Centerville will host Groveton next Friday. Leon will head up Highway 6 next week to take on Hearne.
