Loutolim: Two workers died and four others were seriously injured in a blast at Vijai Marine Shipbuilding yard at Rassai, Loutolim on Friday evening.

A senior official from Fire and Emergency Services said that the blast happened at around 6.30 pm inside the Shipbuilding Yard owned by Vijai Marine Services at Rassaim village.

He said that when they arrived at the scene, two workers were already dead and four others were seriously injured.

The official said that the cause of fire is yet to be ascertain but prima facie, the blast was caused after a cylinder went into the flames. He said that the blast happened inside the ship, which was under construction.
