Paramedic Margaret “Dede” Davis, one of the survivors of the REACH Air Medical helicopter crash on Highway 50, has been released from UC Davis Medical Center and transferred to a rehab facility to continue her recovery. Sacramento firefighters who helped rescue her reunited with her before her transfer. Captain Peter Vandersluis, the first on scene, recalled how drivers and firefighters worked together to lift the wreckage that had pinned Davis. The pilot, Chad Millward, remains in stable condition, while flight nurse Susan “Suzie” Smith was killed in the crash.
