Selena Gomez is speaking out in response to comments that Hailey Bieber recently made about their feud rumors and their competing beauty brands.

“It’s always annoying being pitted against other people,” Hailey told WSJ. Magazine . “I didn’t ask for that.”

She added, “When people want to see you a certain way and they’ve made up a story about you in their minds, it’s not up to you to change that.”

When asked about their brands being sold in the same store, Hailey responded, “I think there is space for everybody… I don’t feel competitive with people that I’m not inspired by.”

Selena responded directly to the comments in a since-deleted Instagram Story, though the post is still live on her Facebook Story.
