The Indian men’s cricket team has landed in Australia for the three-match ODI series. The series opener is scheduled to take place at Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday (October 19). Shubman Gill will make his ODI captaincy debut against the six-time World Cup winners. Ahead of the start of the first match in Perth, former India opener Aakash Chopra has picked his India XI.

In his team, Chopra included two spin/spin bowling all-rounders, but surprisingly there was no place for Kuldeep Yadav.

Kuldeep has been in red-hot form these days. He played seven matches in the Asia Cup 2025 and picked up 17 wickets, and in the two Tests of the recently concluded series against the West Indies, he dismissed 12 batters.
