Sometimes, the smallest act of compassion can completely change a dog’s life.

For Lacy Dagerath, a dog rescuer based in Houston, Texas, that moment came when she was tagged in a social media post about a dog spotted near a busy highway.

Without hesitation, she got in her car and drove across the city late at night.

A Heartbreaking Scene

When she arrived, she found Titus curled up in the grass, lying beside his fallen companion who had been struck by a vehicle.

“I was tagged in this post last night, so at 10:45 we drove to the other side of Houston to find him. We drove past him once. He was curled up sleeping and we didn’t see him. He was close to his friend who had been hit by a car. He didn’t make it,” Lacy wrote in the post .
