With South Charleston and Riverside ranked just outside of the playoff field, their matchup Friday night was an important game for both.

Riverside was able to pick up a big win, scoring touchdowns on offense, defense and special teams to earn a 31-14 road victory over the Black Eagles and spoil homecoming for South Charleston.

Both the Warriors (Class AAAA) and Black Eagles (Class AAA) were ranked No. 18 coming into the game with the top 16 earning playoff spots. Riverside improves to 2-6, while South Charleston falls to 2-5.
