Srinagar, Oct 18: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a Section Officer (Legal) of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Finance Corporation (JKLFC), Jammu, on charges of demanding a bribe of Rs 80,000 and accepting the first instalment of Rs 20,000, the agency said on Saturday.

According to the CBI, a complaint alleged that the officer demanded the bribe from the complainant for processing a file related to the settlement of an MSME loan of Rs 51 lakh. During negotiations, the first instalment was settled at Rs 20,000.

The agency said a trap was laid on Friday, and the accused was caught accepting the bribe via online UPI transaction through a mobile number provided by him, pertaining to the MSME loan settlement.
