KILAUEA — Reckless handling of illegal fireworks caused a significant safety threat to residents Thursday morning.
On Oct. 16 at approximately 11:30 a.m., police responded to reports of an explosion in a residential area of Kilauea. Witnesses reported seeing a man fleeing the scene immediately after the blast.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage that showed a male suspect igniting what appeared to be an aerial firework. The firework flew out of control and landed under a parked car before exploding. The suspect was identified as Bronze Robson, 24, of Kilauea. He was later arrested for Reckless Endangering in the Second Degree and is currently being held in KPD Cellblock. His bail is set at $1,000.
No injuries were reported.
