Historical museum

• The Washington Historical Museum is open from 1-4 p.m. Oct. 26 at 58230 Van Dyke Ave., Washington Township. Patricia Hallman will talk about the canal that brought thousands of people and commercial goods from New England states to the Midwest. A groundbreaking event for the Erie Canal was held on July 4, 1817, in Rome, N.Y. and the project was completed from Albany to Buffalo on October 26, 1825, two hundred years ago. There are exhibits on scouting, military history, old toys, school artifacts
