Udupi, Oct 18: A major danger spot on the Kalsanka–Ambagilu Road near Silas School has turned into a daily nightmare for commuters and students, with a large pothole formed around a damaged manhole creating a serious safety hazard. Despite repeated complaints from the public, official apathy continues, putting hundreds of schoolchildren and daily commuters at risk.
Every morning, more than 100 students travel through this road to reach Silas School. The deep pothole surrounding the manhole forces vehicles to make sudden turns or drive dangerously close to the edge of the road. The absence of barricades or warning signs worsens the situation, especially during the morning rush hours when traffic density is high.
