Should Duluth renters have a right to repair? Voters will answer that question in the Nov. 4 election, as the News Tribune reported .

Common sense would say that if repairs are needed in a rental unit, the property owner would attempt to make necessary repairs as soon as it is practical.

Does this issue need government oversight? As a whole, this type of item is such a small part of residential living that a governmental authority need not be involved. With residential rentals valued anywhere from $100,000 to $1 million, it would appear to be urgent for an owner to make needed repairs in a timely manner to protect the investment.
