DES ARC, Ark.- On Thursday evening, the owner of Dondie's White River Princess and employees all received calls stating that the restaurant was on fire. Although it wasn't an easy pill to swallow, they're now choosing to cherish it for what it meant to the community.

Lora Morton, a server for the restaurant, met FOX 16 News at the building along with Andrea Holloway, another server.

"I just met a bunch of people who became family to me," Morton said.

That family and those traditions to gather at Dondie's White River Princess are now gone after the fire that left extensive damage inside the building.

"It's hard news to hear when you've worked here so long, you know all the employees and customers," Holloway said.
