Gerry Turner , the former Iowan and ABC's first " Golden Bachelor, " is releasing a book.

The 74-year-old is releasing his memoir, "Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV," later this fall. Turner, a retired restaurateur who now lives in Indiana, spent a large part of his first marriage with his wife of 43 years, Toni, in the Quad Cities before she died in 2017.

In 2023, he appeared as the leading man on the spinoff for seniors of the popular “The Bachelor” series, where contestants vie for the affection of one bachelor or bachelorette through romantic dates and weekly eliminations. On the show, he met Theresa Nist, and the season finale ended with the two getting married on live television.

In April 2024, the two announced they were getting a divorce
