UK holidaymakers travelling to EU destinations may encounter a fresh system.

Airports across Europe started rolling out the new Entry and Exit System (EES) digital programme fromOctober 12.

This means that the majority of non-EU nationals will be required to register their biometric information in one of the 29 participating nations, which encompass sought-after holiday spots including Spain and Greece.

Certain UK travellers will be required to have facial photographs taken and fingerprints recorded before gaining access to Europe's Schengen zone.
