Four weeks ago, the Chapin High football team looked like it had a foot, maybe both feet, in the grave.

As the Huskies walked off the field after a blowout loss to their rivals from Andress, they were 1-3, they couldn't consistently get the ball to their best player, receiver Daveon Singleton, and sneaking into the playoffs seemed a long shot at best.

How Chapin saved a season

Four weeks ago seems like a decade ago now. With its season on the brink, Chapin moved Singleton to quarterback and a corpse was resurrected. The Huskies second-half revival continued Friday night with a thorough 35-21 upset victory against Chapin, their fourth consecutive win that moved them to 5-3 overall and 4-1 in District 1-5A Division II.
