Cooler air has settled in for another morning. Some of us will be starting the weekend on a bit of chillier or colder note as temperatures dive into the 20s and 30s across parts of northern, and western New Mexico along with southwest Colorado. Freeze Warnings in the La Plata County, Espanola Valley and in the Northeast Highlands are expected to expire at 9 a.m. today. On Saturday, sunnier skies are expected to blanket the state; however, winds will be a bit breezy. Northern winds will be sustained around 5-15 mph in the afternoon with gusts potentially reaching the low 20s in Albuquerque.

Overnight, into Sunday morning temperatures will be on the chiller side into northern New Mexico and southern Colorado. The National Weather Service is also issuing a Freeze Watch for the Estancia Valle
