: The Hynniewtrep Youths’ Council (HYC) has issued a public appeal to tourists visiting Sohra and the Khasi-Jaintia Hills region to preserve the natural beauty and delicate ecosystem of the area.
The HYC has outlined a set of guidelines, “Do’s” and “Don’ts”, to promote responsible tourism and minimize environmental impact.
It has requested visitors to dispose of waste responsibly using designated bins and facilities, respect local environment and customs, use eco-friendly products such as reusable bags and water bottles, keep public areas clean and avoid littering, familiarize themselves with local regulations and rules for waste management and environmental conservation.
