REDFORD TOWNSHP, MI — A crash on I-96 near Schoolcraft Road closed the freeway while under investigation.
Michigan State Troopers arrived to the scene of a crash around 9:40 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17.
They found a single vehicle blocking the left lane with a 28-year-old male driver trapped inside, per a post on X .
Troopers removed the man and began to administer first aid, police said. He had no pulse and was not breathing.
The River Rouge man was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“The freeway was closed for a few hours to complete the on scene investigation,” said F/Lt. Mike Shaw. “This investigation pends medical examiner reports and further investigation to its cause.”
