NEW ORLEANS —
The family of Lonnie Thompson, 36, is remembering him as a man who had a heart full of love and a smile that could light up a room.
Emotions were raw for Lonnika Thompson and her family during a vigil and balloon release honoring her brother's life Friday evening. Advertisement
"I felt like I didn't have that person for me anymore. He was my other half," said Thompson.
Through tears, Thompson joked about her twin brother while sharing stories of his love for his cars and slingshot, detailing how the special bond was second to none.
"On Thursday night, you would see me with him. It's just that I know I won't be able to have that anymore. He was a great person to just be around and talk to. Whether it was for advice or just crack jokes with," said Thompson.
