Strong wind gusts are expected to hit the Pittsburgh area and much of the larger region on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Moon.
Forecasters are predicting rain and winds potentially gusting from 30-45 mph across the region, with higher speeds possible in areas experiencing expected isolated thunderstorms.
As of Saturday morning, Pittsburgh was given a 15% chance of seeing winds above 40 mph beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, with that percentage chance increasing to a peak of 65% at 8 p.m. and carrying over into the early morning hours of Monday at 55%, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
