Srinagar, Oct 18: A religious seminary was gutted after a fire broke out in the Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

Reports reaching GNS said that a fire broke out in a room at Dar-ul-Uoom this evening and soon engulfed the whole building.

As the news of the fire spread in the area, police and locals rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation.

Locals said they managed to save the Masjid and some houses that were in close vicinity to the Dar-ul-Uloom. However, they couldn’t save the religious seminary.

The locals alleged that Dar-ul-Uloom could have been saved if the vehicles from the Fire and Emergency Services Department had reached on time.
